Sayeedur Rahman is Professor and former Chairman of the Department of English Language at the Institute of Modern Languages (IML), 91¾«Æ·. He received PhD in ELT from Jawaharlal Nehru University, India, as an Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) Scholar. He has extensively worked as an ESL/EFL teacher and researcher for last 20 years and has published widely in the areas of SLA and Sociolinguistics. He has worked as a consultant and led several ELT projects with the Save the Children, the Open University-UK, UNICEF, Dhaka Ahsania Mission (DAM), British Council and English in Action (EIA) project funded by the UK Government and Mott MacDonald. He was awarded the Researcher Links fellowships from the British council, UK in 2014 as a Visiting Fellow with the OU, UK. He is also a certified Master Trainer by the University Grants Commission (UGC), Bangladesh, and the British Council Bangladesh. His research interest includes sociolinguistics, EFL syllabus design and materials development, socio-psychological study of EFL, individual differences in language learning and EAP/ESP.
